Making a charitable donation in someone’s name is a thoughtful (and tax-deductible!) gift idea, especially when the charity has a special meaning for the gift recipient. This season of giving, consider supporting some organizations that do good work towards making our world healthier and more sustainable.

Donate to AGCA to support the growth of new community gardens in neighborhoods that need them.
Earth Island Institute: Earth Island supports a wide variety of environmental initiatives, ranging from saving the wetlands to creating sustainable farms for the world’s hungry. Non-profit support benefits Baikal Watch, Energy Action, Ethical Traveler, Fiji Organic Project, International Marine Mammal Project, Reef Protection International, Sacred Land Film Project, and Women’s Earth Alliance, among others. Donate at earthisland.org.
Farm Aid: For 26 years, Farm Aid has been supporting family farmers and local farmer’s markets. During the month of December, every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar by an generous donor.
